The flea market

WALT: Identify the author’s purpose

In this protest I have learnt that going to a market would be fun and tiring to wake up early in the morning to go and sell things.

Grass to glass part 2

WALT add detail to the beginning of sentences.
Make these sentences into complex sentences by adding another clause to the beginning.

As soon as the warm milk is brought out of the cows,  the milk gets put in the fridge so that the milk can get cooled. When the milk is cooled then they go into a machine. The milk goes into the machine so the germs can go away.

In a dairy factory the milk gets spinned around on the spinning machine, then the milk and cream are separated. When the milk and cream are separated in the blue bottle the farmers put more cream and in the green bottle they only put a little. When the bottles are filled of milk and a little bit of cream then they are sent to dairies.
In a dairy factory the milk gets spinned around on the spinning machine, then the Milk and cream are separated. The machine is set up to 72 degrees Celsius so that all the germs wipe out of the milk. If the milk doesn't go into the machine then the baby that drink it could get really sick.

Finally the milk is bottled, ready for you to drink. That completes the journey from grass to glass.

Grass to glass 1

Cows eat 70 kilograms of grass a day, or during wi nter the farmers will make silage for the cows to eat.  When the cows have eaten the grass, the grass turns into milk for people to drink. The amount of grass the cows eat is twice as much as two kids.

Cows have four stomachs, to break down and digest the grass into little pieces that gets burped back up. When the grass gets burped back up the cows eat it again for 1 minute and then they swallow it back down.  After they have eaten the grass it goes down into the cows four stomachs and breaks the grass down into little pieces.

Milking happens twice a day, and can never be missed out or else the cows will get an infection! The cows get milked 7-8 minutes and produce 30 litres of milk a day. The cows are milked in a milking shed that has cups that attach to the cow's teats.

Now days milking machines do all the hard work, which will give the farmers less work to do. The work that farmers have to do is attach the cups on to the cows teats. When the teats are attached then the milk from the cows get pulled out and into a big milk container.

Aliyah 3D shape- properties

WALT: We are learning about the properties of 3 dimensional.

Through the past of the week I have learnt about 3D shapes. Today I have learnt 3 names of 3D shapes, which are Cubes, Tetrahedron and Pyramids. The D that goes next to the 3 stands for Dimensional shapes, and dimensional means Any one of the three physical or spatial properties of length, area, and volume.

My reading follow up

WALT: Identify the authors purpose.

In this Story I have learnt that If you are in a hurry and to see some one and you don't want to miss out then you should just ask someone how it was.

Living on a farm

If I grew up or lived on a farm I would love to milk the cows because I would love to make the milk and drink it to. Whenever lived on a farm I would always be responsible at milking the cows and making it.The reason I would like to be milking the cows is because I would be able to mix milk powder and water together and make milk, and when I finish making it I pour it into the milk container so that the cows can drink it.

My second favourite thing that I would like to do would be giving the cows medicine. If I got to give the cows medicine I would always be there to do that every single day. The reason I would secondly like to give cows medicine is because I wouldn't like the cows to get sores and sick. I really like cows that have nice coloured delightful skin.

My last favourite thing that I would like to do would be riding a horse. I would lastly like to ride a horse because if I got to ride on a horse I would ride through the paddock and on the field. The reason I would like to ride a horse is because it would be fun and a lot of work to push the calves or cows  into the pen.

Screenshot 2015-08-03 at 9.47.39 AM.pngIt has been interesting to learn about what it would be like to live on a dairy farm, all the jobs you get to help with and animals you care for. But living there full time? No thank you. I think I’ll stick to the city, where I live and belong.
