Creamed Children

1p. So Who would like to go first “Yelled Mrs Lavakula”. Me, Me, Me, yelled all of the children, trying to tell Mrs Lavakula if they can be first up. Everyone Wanted to be first but there was only enough plates for eight children. So Instead of everyone going first Mrs Lavakula picked eight pairs.

2p. So when all eight pairs were at the table we had to wait to get our cut in half wheat biscuit with a blob of light whipping cream and an apple. After we got our experiments which was our food we had to be with our partner and the person that was eating had to stand at the table with their hands at the back of them well the partner had to put their hands in the whole of the partner's arms.

3p. “Three, two one” Yelled out Miss Lavakula, and we all started to try and eat from our partners hands without even touching the food. Everyone yelling and screaming telling their partner to try and win. Eat it, Eat it “ said the partners. Ten,Nine,Eight, seven “yelled out Miss Lavakula, we are running out of time. “Yah” 4p. Yelled” out with excitement, us are finally done.
“Now” who would like to go next” Said Mrs lavakula. I would, I would, ok “said Mrs lavakula. So then the next group of people came up and had their turn. When they started to eat people were dashing and rushing to try and eat fast because it was a competition. When they started people laughed so hard they made the cream fall of the wheat biscuit. People were filled with cream it made everyone laugh.

5p. After a while when all of the girls had their turn they all had to run into the bathroom because they all vomited. It was very nice but if the cream wasn’t on then it would of been better.  When we all had a turn we came back inside and then had our writing test.

Writing

Did you know that during the holidays I went to Parakai pools with my Nana, papa and uncle. It took about one hour for us  to get there and half-hour to get back. During the ride we saw a real fruit Ice-cream factory and we thought that after the pools we could stop and get a Ice-cream. At first I got dressed and then I went to the major fast and big slide. After I went onto the major fast and big slide we ate fried bread and cook island food.

After we ate my uncle and I went back up the slide and then went back down so fast we nearly couldn't breath. It takes about two minutes to get up to the slide because it is so high and when something is high it would take forever to get up to. There were two types of slides, one was a short one and the other one was the tall one that took forever to get up to. After we went on the slide we went into the in-side pools which is the hot pool/spa pools. It is a free spa pool for any-one that would like to go into. Well I was in the spa-pool my Nana bought some hot chips and some slushes for a snack to have.

Did you know that as soon as you get into the spa pool it would feel warm then after a while the lifeguard will turn up the temperature and then you might feel the hotter water come out. When you get out of the spa pool you would feel the coldness on your body because the cold air. I mostly went onto the slide because the water was warm and not hot  or cold. When I first saw the slide I told my uncle I will call it major because when I saw and went on it it went so fast I almost fall of the board.

My favourite was when I went down the mega slide. I hope next time we bring more food but has to be delicious.

Blindfold game

WP_20150226_09_20_30_Pro.jpg“WOW” Did you know that room eight literacy class played a really cool ( Blindfold ) game. It had five sorts of containers, hard plastic balls and five blindfolded students in the middle of the circle. At first Everyone had to get into a big circle, secondly of all miss Lavakula brought out five coloured containers and put them in the middle of the circle. When miss Lavakula put the coloured containers down she asked for five Volunteers to explain how to play the game. The five volunteers had to sit in the middle blindfolded .
When the five volunteers sat in the middle of the circle miss Lavakula set the time to one minute. After that the five volunteers had to start when they started the time had been going really slow and fast. After a while the time had stopped, and when the time had stopped they took the blindfold off and then it was the real game. When it was the real game the blindfolded people had to start another game. When the game had started the students had to get into the middle of the circle. The time had started the students were rushing and the balls were flying around and around. When the game started all over again the  students were happy and really really loud. When it was the end of the game we had to turn to a partner and talk about what happened and how we played the game. I talked about what we used, what we done and how to play the game. The whole point of the game was having fun and writing about it and communicating with each other. My favourite part was having a turn at it and having fun. When it was my turn I felt really nervous, but then I didn't care about it because it looked so fun. When the game finished we had to write about the game because the whole point of the game was to write about it.  After that day we had another go at it but we only had two rounds to play. We started that game to refresh our mind so we can write the rest of our paragraph.

You should really play a blindfold game because it is really fun and cool to play. If you nothing to do and you have friends over you should play it even if you don't have a blindfold you could use a tea towel. The blindfold game is really fun and interesting. WP_20150226_09_27_37_Pro.jpg

Butter Butter Butter

Did you know that room 8 made home made butter? We used a pinch of salt and cream, we put in the pinch of salt into the jar with the cream and then we all got into a big circle. Then we all got to shake the jar until the cream was thick and smooth.  When it looked thick and smooth we got split into groups of 4 and then we got a piece of bread and tasted it.
When I tasted the butter, the butter tasted like normal butter but it has a more interesting  tasty. The taste was a yum tangy taste and was Delicious.
That is how you make home made BUTTER!

Grass to glass part 2

WALT add detail to the beginning of sentences.
Make these sentences into complex sentences by adding another clause to the beginning.

As soon as the warm milk is brought out of the cows,  the milk gets put in the fridge so that the milk can get cooled. When the milk is cooled then they go into a machine. The milk goes into the machine so the germs can go away.

In a dairy factory the milk gets spinned around on the spinning machine, then the milk and cream are separated. When the milk and cream are separated in the blue bottle the farmers put more cream and in the green bottle they only put a little. When the bottles are filled of milk and a little bit of cream then they are sent to dairies.
In a dairy factory the milk gets spinned around on the spinning machine, then the Milk and cream are separated. The machine is set up to 72 degrees Celsius so that all the germs wipe out of the milk. If the milk doesn't go into the machine then the baby that drink it could get really sick.

Finally the milk is bottled, ready for you to drink. That completes the journey from grass to glass.

Grass to glass 1

Cows eat 70 kilograms of grass a day, or during wi nter the farmers will make silage for the cows to eat.  When the cows have eaten the grass, the grass turns into milk for people to drink. The amount of grass the cows eat is twice as much as two kids.

Cows have four stomachs, to break down and digest the grass into little pieces that gets burped back up. When the grass gets burped back up the cows eat it again for 1 minute and then they swallow it back down.  After they have eaten the grass it goes down into the cows four stomachs and breaks the grass down into little pieces.

Milking happens twice a day, and can never be missed out or else the cows will get an infection! The cows get milked 7-8 minutes and produce 30 litres of milk a day. The cows are milked in a milking shed that has cups that attach to the cow's teats.

Now days milking machines do all the hard work, which will give the farmers less work to do. The work that farmers have to do is attach the cups on to the cows teats. When the teats are attached then the milk from the cows get pulled out and into a big milk container.

Aliyah 3D shape- properties

WALT: We are learning about the properties of 3 dimensional.

Through the past of the week I have learnt about 3D shapes. Today I have learnt 3 names of 3D shapes, which are Cubes, Tetrahedron and Pyramids. The D that goes next to the 3 stands for Dimensional shapes, and dimensional means Any one of the three physical or spatial properties of length, area, and volume.

My reading follow up

WALT: Identify the authors purpose.

In this Story I have learnt that If you are in a hurry and to see some one and you don't want to miss out then you should just ask someone how it was.
